Code Camp is returning to Perth College these October holidays to guide your child on their coding adventures! There are three different camps to suit varying ability levels.

SPARK

For students new to Code Camp, regardless of their prior coding experience, SPARK is where they should start their journey. Recommended for students aged seven to 12 years, SPARK runs over three days and is Code Camp’s most popular program.


BLAST 3D

BLAST 3D runs over three days and is suitable for those that are continuing their Code Camp journey and are ready to take on the world of pure JavaScript. Students must have previously attended Code Camp’s SPARK program. BLAST 3D is the world's first 3D coding platform designed for kids to code, create and build spectacular worlds and apps. Recommended for students aged eight to 13 years.


YOUTUBE CREATORS

YouTube Creators is the perfect program for vloggers, gamers and budding content creators as students harness their creativity with tips and tricks on planning, storytelling, shooting and video editing. The workshops will run over two days and are suitable for those students aged eight to 13 years old, who have already completed the SPARK program.

FIRETECH

LEARN DIGITAL MUSIC

Unleash your inner music producer with Firetech’s Digital Music workshop! Whether you are a budding composer or complete novice, this workshop takes all students through a wide variety of technical skills and music theory. Equip your creativity with the tools to create fantastic music and explore a variety of music genres to spark your curiosity and passion. Suitable for students aged nine to 12 years. All equipment is provided.


LEARN DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Fire up your creativity and get snapping with Firetech’s Digital Photography workshop! This half-day workshop is designed for DSLR beginners looking to build strong foundations and understand the science of capturing light and conveying emotion. Suitable for students aged nine to 12 years. All equipment is provided.


LEARN ROBOTICS

Discover what automation means, how sensors work and what really happens inside a robot’s brain! Students will use a variety of mini robots to explore creativity, while learning key programming and engineering concepts. Featuring interactive activities covering sensors, logic and heaps of robo-testing opportunities, students will work their way through design challenges, problem-solving mazes, and even bowling with their robo-buddies. Junior Robotics is a fantastic opportunity for students aged six to 12 to bring their creativity and science skills together.


LEGO STOP-MOTION ANIMATION

Unleash your creativity and join the fun with Firetech’s Stop-motion Animation with LEGO holiday workshop. Working collaboratively in small groups, students will workshop short story ideas and refine scripts for their animation production. Using LEGO kits, whiteboards and other creative tools at their disposal, students will build their own characters and set ready for filming. With guidance from the expert Firetech tutors, students will learn how to film their movie, record voiceovers and produce their film to a final product. Suitable for students aged six to nine years.

STEMmates

STEMmates is a hands-on, activity-based programme, that supports the renewed focus on STEM. With Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) having an increasing focus in schools as well as registered training organisations, they prepare to educate the next generation’s workforce and upskill the current generation of professionals.

INTRO TO FORENSICS

Suitable for students aged from nine to 14, the Intro to Forensics two-day workshop is designed to engage and expose learners to a truly fascinating area of science! Participants act as crime scene investigators as they work together examining and analysing evidence needed to solve the mystery of a broken cookie jar! Using real laboratory techniques and materials, students will create theories about the crime and, much like real detectives scientists, use their powers of critical thinking to track down the thief.

INTRO TO ROCKETRY

Suitable for students aged 10 to 12, the Intro to Rocketry workshop is designed to develop students' understanding of the aerodynamic forces involved in flight and model building skills. Students will learn about the construction of solid fuel model rockets, launch and recovery preparations, launch procedures and safe controlled launching, and will assess flight worthiness.

Tempest Theatre are returning to Perth College for the October holidays with a three-day workshop for students aged eight to 12! Susie Conte will guide students through the creative process, showing them how to harness their imagination as a group to create a show.

UNICORN CAKE AND CUPCAKE CLASS

Decorate a unicorn cake and four matching cupcakes and take your creations home to share with friends and family! Suitable for ages seven to 15, students will make all the magical, edible decorations themselves. Everything is provided – just bring an apron. Register now as places are limited.
