Important announcement from the Perth College Chair of Council

Dear families and friends of the Perth College community,

After 16 years of extraordinary leadership as Principal, Jenny Ethell has informed the School Council she will be leaving Perth College at the end of 2018 to embark on a new phase of her life and career.

Jenny is a remarkable woman. From her first day, she has embraced the school ethos and taken strength from the founding Sisters leading our school. A smart, warm, visionary leader, Perth College has thrived under Jenny’s stewardship. The establishment of InsideOut, focus on STEaM, growth of the performing arts and sport areas has ensured Perth College is a leader in girls’ education. Jenny has transformed the school’s physical learning environment to meet contemporary education needs and helped safeguard the future with the establishment of the School Foundation.

Her true legacy is not bricks and mortar but our graduates who continue to be confident, resilient and positive young women eager to make their mark and contribute to the broader community.

We have a strong school leadership team, supported by the School Council, who will continue to manage the effective running of the school.  They will continue to implement the school’s strategic plan and ensure the school is well placed for the future.

The search for a new Principal has begun. The School Council has engaged a recruitment expert to conduct a search for the right leader for Perth College. We anticipate the announcement of the new Principal will be made by the beginning of Term 4 2018.

Jenny has accepted the position as Head of Oxley College, an independent school in regional NSW. This opportunity will enable Jenny and Dougall to combine their shared passion for regional Australia and giving back to the community. We sincerely wish them well for their next adventure and there will be opportunities to acknowledge and thank them in the coming months.

I look forward to updating you with developments of the recruitment process and in the meantime, if you have any questions concerning the process for appointing the new Principal, please contact me on PCCouncilChair@pc.wa.edu.au.

Yours sincerely,

Andrea Burns
