Leaving a gift in your will is a gift for future generations.
How do I leave a bequest?
To assist your legal advisor, Perth College recommends the inclusion of a paragraph in your will. If you have already made a will and you wish to leave a gift, you may be able to make a simple change by adding a codicil, which includes Perth College as a beneficiary.
Bequests to the School can be made in a number of different forms and can be directed to an area of particular interest. Gifts such as property, art, money, chattels or a percentage of your estate are gratefully received by the School and all contributions large or small are certainly appreciated.
We encourage all of our benefactors to ensure they provide for their family first and to consult with their legal advisor. For your assistance, the type of clause your legal advisor might consider using in your will for this purpose is the following:
"I give and bequeath:
- The sum of $ ...
- My property situate at ...
- The following chattels ...
- A ... per centum share of my estate.
to Perth College, 31 Lawley Crescent, Mount Lawley, Western Australia 6050 for its general purposes and the receipt of its Principal shall be a sufficient discharge to my Executor in respect of this bequest."

About The Jacaranda Society.
The Jacaranda Society was launched to acknowledge members of our Perth College family who have made a provision for Perth College through their will, or intend to do so.
The name of the society was chosen from the School’s iconic Jacaranda tree, which has become synonymous with Perth College and holds a special place for generations of our Old Girls. The tree brings a sense of belonging and represents the history and growth of the School, particularly during the first week of November when the tree blooms, prior to final exams. This sentiment still resonates with our students today.
The founding Patron of the Jacaranda Society is Bev Ireland (1960), President of the Perth College Old Girls' Association. Members of the Jacaranda Society are invited to special events, including an annual Jacaranda Society function, hosted by the Principal.
