Pastoral Care

Our Pastoral Care aims in the Boarding House are to provide a family environment in which students feel comfortable, safe and secure in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.

We strive to provide opportunities for all students to live in a happy and supportive community. We aim to make this termly home as vibrant and warm as we possibly can for all.

We want to encourage our girls to be happy with themselves, to have the confidence to take themselves out of their comfort zone at times and feel the sense of reward that stems from this risk. We want to teach them the skills they will need in order to be successful in the next step of their journey and become contributing adults in the wider community.

Specifically we work hard to:

  • encourage tolerance and positive interaction between students, and to have regard for each other's individuality, privacy and possessions;
  • to provide the conditions for students to develop their intellectual talents through a managed environment and support them in attaining their personal best;
  • to provide activities and programmes appropriate to age and maturity, that will encourage each student to develop spiritually, culturally, morally and socially;
  • to develop students' responsibility – for themselves, for others and for their environment – and, through this, to develop their leadership qualities;
  • to develop a desire to help their community and those in the wider setting and give them a variety of opportunities through which they contribute a meaningful service.
